Hearing before the Subcom on Asia and the Pacific to review issues relating
to the testing or use of nuclear weapons in the South Pacific region.
Examines Administration Oct. 1995 decision to sign the protocols of the
Treaty of Rarotonga, which established a nuclear weapons-free zone in the
South Pacific.
Also examines the decision by France to resume nuclear testing at Moruroa
and Fangataufa Atolls in its South Pacific territory of French Polynesia.
