Briefing before the Subcom on Western Hemisphere Affairs to examine
implications of the Oct. 25, 1993 parliamentary elections in Canada for U.S.
ratification of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), in light of
NAFTA-related concerns expressed by the incoming Liberal Party government in
Canada.
NAFTA was negotiated by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico to promote trade and
investment among the nations.
