 Recommends passage, with an amendment in the nature of a substitute, of
 H.R. 2929, the Chinese Temporary Protected Status Act of 1989, to amend the
 Immigration and Nationality Act to allow temporary protected status (TPS) in
 the U.S. for eligible aliens whose home country is disrupted by war, natural
 disasters, or other extraordinary conditions determined by the Department of
 Justice; and to direct the Department of Justice to designate China as a
 country whose nationals are eligible for TPS for a period of three years.
   H.R. 2929 is related to 100th Congress H.R. 2922.
