Recommends passage of S. 1404, to require and establish deadlines for
Presidential actions to eliminate unfair Japanese trade practices or offset
the effects of such practices on the U.S.-Japan trade balance.
Includes provision to require Presidential actions to achieve an impact
on the U.S.-Japanese trade imbalance at least equal to elimination of
Japanese voluntary restraints on automobile exports to the U.S.
