MC ENTRY NO: 83-19723
Recommends Senate advice and consent to ratification of a treaty between
the U.S. and New Zealand, signed Dec. 2, 1980, at Tokelau, to establish the
maritime boundary between American Samoa and Tokelau, resolve the status of
three Tokelauan islands, and confirm U.S. sovereignty over Swains Island.
Boundary definition eliminates jurisdictional uncertainty resulting from
overlapping 200-mile fishery resources zones established by treaty
participants.
