Report of a Subcom on Asian and Pacific Affairs study mission led by
Chairman Lester L. Wolff (D-NY) to Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka,
Pakistan, and the Soviet Union, Aug. 6-24, 1979.
Specific issues discussed included Sino-Soviet rivalry,
U.S.-China-U.S.S.R. relations, Vietnamese-Cambodian hostilities, Indochinese
and Afghan refugees, arms control and disarmament, human rights, U.S.
prisoners of war and missing in action in Vietnam, and U.S. foreign aid.
Appendices (p. 117-149) include transcript of meeting with Soviet
dissidents who were refused exit visas (p. 139-149).
