Report of Jan. 2-22, 1978 study mission led by Subcom on Asian and Pacific
Affairs Chairman Lester L. Wolff (D-NY) to examine the prospects and
requirements for regional stability in Japan, the Philippines, Papua New
Guinea, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Iran, and Great
Britain.
Summarizes discussions with each nation's leadership, and synthesizes
study mission members' impressions and findings relating to countries
regional and internal security and economic development, and Asian/U.S. drug
traffic and control efforts.
Appendices (p. 39-120) include correspondence, communiques, texts of
foreign leaders' speeches and press conferences, articles, and study
members' additional views.
