 Report of a Subcom on Asian and Pacific Affairs study mission led by Rep.
 Lester L. Wolff (D-NY) to Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, the
 Philippines, and Taiwan, Apr. 8-21, 1977, to examine FY78 security
 assistance programs proposed for Asia.
   Summarizes discussions with each nation's leadership, and synthesizes
 study members' impressions and findings relating to: Asian and Pacific area
 regional interdependence; continued U.S. presence in and military assistance
 to Asia; and Asian observance of human rights.
   Appendices (p. 31-59) include a submitted statement and correspondence,
 additional study members' accounts, and foreign press reports on study
 mission visits (p. 42-53).
