Hearings on S. 649 (text, dept rpt, p. 2-12), the Japan-U.S. Friendship
Act, to create a trust fund, employing 10% of the proceeds from the Okinawa
Reversion Agreement of 1971 to promote scholarly, cultural, and artistic
activities between Japan and the U.S.
Also considers alternative Administration proposal of using "Government
and Relief in Occupied Areas" (GARIOA) funds for the purpose.
